I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but Eileen, the acupuncturist, is so deserving of recognition I feel compelled to in this case. I seriously don't know what I ever did without her. I've been seeing her for weekly 30-minute acupuncture sessions for about 6 months now. I was initially just kind of curious (but not overly optimistic) about acupuncture and its ability to alleviate my severe PMS symptoms and make my cycles shorter and more regular. When I first came to Eileen, I was also dealing with chronic fatigue, feeling cold all the time, unexplained infertility and a moderately high level of stress and general anxiety. My husband and I still haven't conceived, but Eileen's treatments have had a very observable affect on my cycles (the first time I saw her, I had just had a 36 day cycle. Each month after I started treatments, my cycles got progressively shorter, until reaching a nice, predictable 26-day pattern.) My periods are much less painful, my energy is higher, and my hands and feet aren't icy cold all the time anymore. Eileen has a very calming presence about her, and is very easy to talk to. She is extremely intuitive and compassionate and sincerely cares about helping me in any way that she can. She talks to me about how I've been feeling before each appointment, and customizes each treatment accordingly. Yesterday my stress level was quite high when I got there, and I had some anxiety that prevented me from being able to stay asleep the night before, so she focused on the best points to relieve stress and I walked out of there a new person. I was in a zen-like state for the rest of the day after my appointment, and I'm still feeling very calm. I've also come in after nursing a headache for 36 hours, and left without any pain whatsoever 45 minutes later. I first had a treatment from Eileen about two years ago. My hair after menopause became very thin and I started to lose a lot of hair. Thanks to Eileen's treatment my hair stopped falling out and today my hair grows back and looks very healthy. Eileen has also helped me with pain in my knees, hip and neck due to my arthritis. Most recently she has been helping me with weight loss. Eileen has been SO helpful in not only treating me for stress but also she has given me tools that are helping me to cope with it. I can't say enough how grateful I am for what she has done for me. So many times I arrived with so much stress and Eileen, with so much patience, listens to me and gives me treatment until I feel calm. She really cares for her patients. After a long list of autoimmune diagnoses and years of being extremely ill with high amounts of pain, I am happy to say that acupuncture and Eileen have changed my life!
Eileen is superb in her practice, she is continually growing her knowledge and treats the body as a whole. Her use of Chinese Herbs is natural and helps the body heal itself. She is kind, caring, thinks outside the box and will do her best to get results that will improve your overall health and life.
She has treated me for chronic issues that I was told by M.D.s I would never recover from and/or I would have to take prescription medications to simply exist for the rest of my life.
Most of the autoimmune markers have disappeared from my bloodwork and I am thriving on herbs!!!! I have been seeing Eileen for about 2 years now. She has helped me to decrease my anxiety and depression, stay off antibiotics ( none since May2015), improve my sleep and energy levels and gotten me through many minor and major illnesses- including the flu. She helps me through lifestyle/dietary advice and treatment to be a healthier person. I see her on a regular basis for maintenance. I have received needling, cupping, gua sha and herbs from Eileen, I also bring my children to see her for illness (fevers & colds) My children do not like needles, so they get cupping and guasha. Eileen is an amazing healer. She has treated myself, husband and preteen. She is extremely thorough, caring and knowledgeable. I was in constant pain from a mid back spasm which was debilitating. I am so happy to have found Eileen. I honestly can not tell you truly how many ways she has benefited my life. From Diet to flexibility, stamina, strength to relieving pain. She has performed several different procedures on me. I trust her so much now, that I go and tell her what is going on. She does some testing on me and puts a plan together. I have never been disappointed. My shoulder isn't in pain anymore, my muscles are all functioning. I can turn my head in almost full rotation. OH my HIPS are not aching anymore. My eyesight is remarkably improved after working with Eileen. She is a caring and skilled professional.
Four years ago, I was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration. As my eyesight declined and traditional medicine had nothing more to offer, I discovered positive results were being achieved through acupuncture. After about 20 treatments with Eileen I saw my ophthalmologist. He was surprised by the vast improvement in my vision. I went as a first timer and highly recommend you try it also! Eileen was welcoming and friendly, and after briefly discussing my health concerns she started off with cupping my back (think of Michael Phelps in the Olympics). This was to relieve some tightness and soreness by creating space for blood flow to heal the muscles, opposite of massage which compresses. I feel great still!
Next Eileen put me at ease by explaining how she places the needles and what sensations I should (and should not) feel. After strategically placing about 15 needles to address my health concerns she left me to relax. Don't ask me how but I fell asleep on the table! After waking back up to reality she had prepared a list of recommendations to help me control my breathing and experiment with relaxation techniques to de-stress and improve my life.
I highly recommend anyone reading this go visit Eileen and her lovely office and experience acupuncture if you are uneasy about it. She will make you comfortable and take great care of you.
